Movie Review: The Iron Lady

Sunday night I went and saw The Iron Lady at the Kenwood Theatre and it honestly was one of the best movies I have seen in quite some time. Meryl Streep is one of those actresses that can seamlessly transform herself into her characters so well that it is impossible to picture her in any other role than the one you are currently watching.

Margaret Thatcher has always been such an intriguing woman throughout history and had inspired me and many, many other women to do great things with their lives. While I may have not agreed with every decision she made throughout her career, she always wanted to do the right thing for her country. She was a strong woman who would not settle to be a homemaker and felt as though she had a calling to do more with her life, for that I applaud her.

If you are at all interested in politics, women’s rights, history, or just want to be entertained go see this movie, it is fantastic and I’m sure Meryl Streep will win an Academy Award for her stellar performance!

Overall: ★★★★

  1. Streep’s performance is so true and so uncannily accurate, so full and so complete in its understanding, that she is fascinating every second she is onscreen. As for the film itself, the structure is a bit off and the screenplay doesn’t really give us much else other than a history lesson, but a good history lesson at that. Nice review. Check out mine when you get the chance.
